I am a professional artist based in West Sussex, England, specialising in original seascape and landscape paintings, art prints and greetings cards that celebrate the British coast and countryside. My creative journey began in carpet design and continued in the greetings cards industry, where I developed strong skills in pattern, colour and composition. After many years in design, I made the transition to painting full time and now focus on producing impressionistic, expressive works that capture the character and mood of coastal and rural scenes.
Working primarily in acrylics and oils I paint seascapes, coastal views, country fields and hedgerows, and atmospheric skies — subjects inspired by walks along the shoreline and rambling through West Sussex and surrounding counties. Spending time outdoors is central to my practice: the changing light, the sounds of waves and birds, and the scents of salt air and wildflower meadows all inform my paintings. I aim to translate those sensory impressions into textured, evocative artworks that bring a sense of calm, wonder and connection to nature into your home.
My portfolio includes original paintings, fine art prints and greetings cards, suitable for collectors, interior designers and anyone seeking coastal or countryside art for living rooms, hallways, kitchens or holiday homes. I also offer bespoke commissions, working with clients to create custom seascapes or landscapes in colours and sizes that complement their space. For artists and enthusiasts I run painting workshops and online classes from my West Sussex studio, sharing practical painting techniques, colour mixing and expressive mark-making.
Whether you are looking for original seaside art, an uplifting landscape print, or a personal commission, my work is rooted in a love of the British coast and countryside and a desire to create beautiful, wearable scenes that brighten everyday life. ‘My desire to paint is ignited by the colour, light and atmosphere surrounding me.
On the shore I breathe in deeply, water glimmers like crystal dancing against colours of the deep.
The water spreads its salty taste in the air as waves surge and retreat.
Birdsong fills the overgrown lanes, their voices carried on the wind.
Cow parsley offers up its delicate pale blooms in a simple yet beguiling way.
Hillsides gently glow in the afternoon sun and delicate flower heads sway in the meadows.’
